Los Angeles-based producer Ivy Duoduo Yang, originally from China, a graduate of the University of Southern California with a master's degree in Communication Management, has made significant waves in the film industry with her distinctive storytelling and commitment to highlighting the experiences of women, minorities, and underrepresented groups.
Ivy’s producing portfolio includes the short film Yokelan 66, which she produced for the Vogue Women Director Program. The short won the Best Narrative Short at the UrbanWorld Film Festival 2022 and received the prestigious Warner Bros. Discovery Prize. It also earned the AFI Film Festival Jury Award of Special Mentions and was officially selected by seven Academy-qualifying film festivals.
Another notable project Ivy co-produced is the independent feature We Are Living Things, starring Jorge Antonio Guerrero and Xingchen Lv. This film has been celebrated across the world, securing 14 awards, including honors from the Deauville Film Festival, Tokyo Film Awards, and Los Angeles Film Awards.
Ivy’s upcoming feature, Not That Rich, adapted from the book of the same name, promises to delve into the themes of immigration and identity from the perspective of an American-born Chinese girl.
With a decade of experience in Film and TV industry, Ivy has been Invited to serve as a judge for the Young Director Award in France in 2023, and the LACFF Screenwriting Competition in U.S. in 2021. She has also contributed to commercially successful projects in the Mandarin-speaking world. Among her notable productions are Somewhere Winter, The Brightest Star in the Sky and Negotiator, all of which have enjoyed success on China’s national networks and in theaters.
During her time as the Co-Founder of Melt Pictures, she produced numerous commercials for many big-time corporations like Alibaba, NetEase Games, ByteDance, vivo and more.
